WLU Students to Help Seniors Write Autobiographies

It nearly back to school time for students across Canada and some seniors may also be found on campus this fall, teaming up with English students at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Brantford location.   A new course, called Life Writing – American Voices to 1900,  will partner students with 30 local area seniors to help write their autobiographies, according to an August 21, 2013 CBC News report.

Senior volunteers who want to participate in the program can email professor Michael Ackerman at mackerman@wlu.ca or contact the Grand River Council of Aging at www.grcoa.ca .  The intergenerational collaboration is hoped to benefit students and seniors alike.
