The world’s population is growing increasingly older at a rate of 10,000 people a day in the U.S. alone reaching 65 years, and yet as a society we are still ageists in many ways. Despite being reassured that 60 is the new 40 or something along those lines, what we have failed to learn is how to celebrate the age we are.
Jo Ann Jenkins, CEO of AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) is about to turn all of the denial, avoidance and attempts to defy aging on its head. Jenkins has spearheaded a movement dubbed Disrupt Aging, aimed at helping people take ownership of their age and to “live the best future” possible. Her book of the same name will be released April 5.
